Proposed Laundry Rooms for Glen Oaks Residents
NEW LAUNDRY ROOMS COMING IN THE SPRING OF 2006
The Board of Directors has been negotiating new laundry room contracts
and anticipates moving the three current below ground laundry rooms
in Section 2, to ground level facilities. The negotiations are complicated
and have taken longer than expected. We anticipate that the Grand
Opening Announcement of the new laundry rooms will happen in the Spring
of 2006. Once these rooms are constructed and opened, the old laundry
rooms will be closed.
There is some discussion at the board to keep laundry room 3 in tact
and not build a replacement. We think the current location of this
laundry room is particularly a good one and the board may decide not
to change it. This matter has not been resolved at this time.
Because of space limitations the one laundry room in section 1 will
remain but will be renovated. The pictures below show where the proposed
new ground level laundry rooms will be located. The laundry rooms
will be built to accommodate todays household's and will have all
new large capacity machines. In addition, doorway awnings are planned
and large ground level store front windows to provide natural illumination
during the day.
